News has recently emerged that Baidu will provide generative AI capabilities for Apple’s iPhone. However, Baidu has not officially confirmed this information. Nonetheless, Baidu’s stock price reacted positively, with Baidu’s US stocks rising by 0.47% on Friday, and its Hong Kong stocks rising by 3.46% on March 25th. Reports of discussions between Apple and Baidu regarding AI solutions surfaced last week, and today, sources familiar with the matter claim that the collaboration between the two companies has been finalized. However, according to well-known tech journalist Mark Gurman, considering privacy concerns, Apple is cautious about introducing AI on the iPhone and may even decide to forgo providing generative AI services in iOS 18.
