Google has announced that as of January 1, 2024, the number of YouTube Premium subscribers on its video platform, YouTube, has exceeded 100 million. This figure includes trial subscribers, so the actual number of paid subscribers may be slightly lower. Google introduced the paid subscription service as YouTube Red in 2015. Three years later, Red was split into two separate subscription types: YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium.
