Apollo economist Torsten Slok shared a chart in a letter to clients and financial media on Tuesday, which showed that the combined market capitalization of the “Big Seven” tech stocks in the US is equivalent to the entire market capitalization of Canada, Japan, and the UK. According to FactSet data, the total market value of the Big Seven tech stocks is still close to $12 trillion. Microsoft alone has a market value of approximately $2.8 trillion, which is equivalent to the total market value of the entire Canadian stock market. However, the performance of the Big Seven members has been mixed since the beginning of this year, with some experiencing gains while others have seen declines. Tesla Inc. (TSLA) has been the worst-performing member so far in 2024, with its stock price falling by 5.7%.
