Windows enthusiast PhantomOcean3 shared that Microsoft is introducing AI writing capabilities to the Windows Notepad application. The screenshot he posted shows a new menu option called “Cowriter” in the Windows 11 version of Notepad with the version number 11.2312.17.0 beta. The menu includes options such as “Rewrite,” “Shorten,” “Lengthen,” “Change Tone,” and “Change Format.” However, the feature is not currently functional. The Paint application on Windows 11 was the first built-in Windows app to receive AI capabilities, with the addition of AI drawing features called “Cocreator” in 2023.
