Several iPhone consumers have recently received payments of $92.17 each from Apple Inc. This is part of the compensation for a class-action lawsuit filed against Apple by iPhone users in the United States in 2017. Apple was accused of intentionally slowing down certain older iPhone models. Apple denied any wrongdoing but decided to reach a settlement agreement in 2020, totaling $500 million, to avoid further litigation. Initially, Apple proposed a compensation of $25 per iPhone, but it eventually increased to $92. In the United States alone, Apple is required to pay at least $310 million in damages for this case. Similar claims in regions such as the United Kingdom are still under review.
