Swiss encrypted email developer Proton has released a beta version of the Proton Mail email client for Windows and macOS. This client is only available to users registered with the company’s Visionary plan, which is now open for registration until January 4, 2024, at an annual price of $359.88. The application will be made available to all users at some point in 2024. Proton states that the new desktop application for Proton Mail provides users with powerful encryption features for both Proton Mail and Proton Calendar, as well as the convenience of a desktop client. This means that Proton Mail is now available on all major platforms. The Linux version of Proton Mail will also be launched in early 2024. Additionally, it was announced that all paid Proton Mail users now have access to a new automatic email forwarding feature, allowing them to automatically send received emails to any other email address.
