软餐获悉，谷歌地图的时间轴/时间线（Timeline）功能将获得重要更新。谷歌很快会将用户的时间线数据直接保存在用户的设备上。该功能计划于 2024 年在 Android 和 iOS 上推出。据悉，如果用户开启了位置记录功能，谷歌地图的 Timeline 功能会帮助记住用户去过的地点，数据将直接保存在设备上，从而允许用户更好地控制数据。用户可以随时删除全部或部分信息，也可以完全禁用该设置。三个月后，谷歌地图会自动删除位置记录数据，同时允许用户选择延长自动删除周期或完全禁用它。此外，虽然时间轴数据保存在设备上，但谷歌同时会定期将其加密副本备份到用户的 Google 帐户，以便在更换设备时继续使用 Timeline 数据。
