Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI is seeking $1 billion in financing. A new filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that xAI has raised nearly $135 million from four investors. Musk founded xAI in July of this year, with the company stating its mission as “advancing our collective understanding of the universe.” Musk hopes to make xAI a competitor to OpenAI. xAI has already launched its first product, a chatbot called Grok, which will soon be available for paid subscribers on X (Twitter).
