After the CEO returned to the company, OpenAI’s board of directors has made significant progress in restructuring. On Wednesday, the new board of directors has taken over and added an observer seat (without voting rights) for its largest investor, Microsoft. Interim Chairman Bret Taylor promised that the new board would establish an independent committee to investigate the firing incident involving CEO Altman. Altman officially resumed his position as CEO on Wednesday evening. As a condition of his return, he did not join the board of directors. Altman’s immediate priority is to stabilize the company. He stated that OpenAI did not lose any customers during this ordeal.
