According to Windows observer Xeno, in recent preview versions of Windows 11 Builds 25330, 23424 and 22624.1537 released by Microsoft, there are restrictions on the Alt+Tab multitasking view/switch window function – when pressing Alt+Tab, only up to “20 most recent tabs/options” can be viewed. As shown in the figure above.
However, in the stable version of Windows 11, users are allowed to set “tabs for all applications” when pressing Alt+Tab under Settings > System > Multitasking interface.
Soft meal tested this change in build 22624.1537 environment but did not reproduce it.
It is unclear why Microsoft suddenly made this restrictive change. Some analysts believe that this may be to reduce resource consumption of Windows 11. We think that such changes may be temporary.
