Microsoft has introduced the “Desktop Search Bar” to Windows 10. The corresponding switch has appeared in the stable version of Edge 111, running on Windows 10, located in the Edge three-dot menu – More Tools – Launch search bar.

This option is not available in Windows 11, and Microsoft may have disabled it. In 2022, Microsoft introduced the “Desktop Search Bar” in the Dev channel of Windows 11 for the first time. Later, Microsoft allowed users to disable the function by clicking the drop-down menu on the right side of the search bar.
